Saint John is going hog wild on August 21 & 22, when the first annual Alpine Lager Saint John BBQ Festival hits the city at Exhibition Park.
The event will feature a number of BBQ pits, serving up a large variety of BBQ specialties from around the world, as prepared by restaurants and caterers from the area.
A huge tent will provide ample room to sample food favorites and live entertainment. The festival grounds will display culinary delights and will also serve a number of exciting activities, such as Toronto’s Infinite Fantasy Circus Family, Flyball Dogs, who will be showing off their agility and speed, the Halifax Regional Police K9 Demo and the Crossfit Saint John Transit Bus Pull. Interactive displays will be featured throughout the site. The Saint John Sea Dogs will host their official season kickoff at the festival.
Live entertainment will be provided during the day by Top 40 New Country recording artist “Kevin Chase” and international recording artist and former Canadian Idol Top 11 Finalist “Dee”.
A Saturday evening “Blues & BBQ” Beer Garden is a separately ticketed show for age 19 + and will feature Thom Swift & The El Caminos, The Carson Downey Band and The Matt Minglewood Band.
Admission to the grounds (except the Blues & BBQ, which is separately ticketed) is priced at $ 5.00 per person or $ 10.00 per family and BBQ food will be available starting at $ 2.50, giving everyone a chance to sample as many different food items as possible. For those wishing to enjoy the festivities on both days, a bracelet will provide free access on the second day.
Proceeds from sponsorships & food sales will benefit the Arts for Everyone Foundation.
